OUR LOVE OF BASKETBALL
Standing on the balcony
In nothing but
My nightgown
After playing a game of
One on one
Sweat pouring down my face
After that last slam dunk
You with your hand checks
And your slam dunks
Me with my holding ons
And committing all types of fouls
No wonder I needed the
Cool breeze of the night air
To welcome my sweat drenched body
Into its inviting hands
You being you
Like always
Never wanting to take a break
From the action of the
Game
Sneaks up with balls in hand
As if to do a slam dunk
Then switch to do a
Soft
But very effective
Layup
Into my nets
Only for your balls to enter the
Depths of my soul
Only to swirl
Around and
Around and
Around
My nets only to rest at the bottom
Of my opening
Being careful not to fallout
The sweat from my nets
And
The sweat from your balls
Coming together for that last
Magical shot
While the stars watching
Two lovers
Playing a game
Of
LOVE
And
BASKETBALL
Questioning:
Who will win?
Will it be him?
Or will it be her?
Cheering us both on
As if they were the crowds
In our stands
As we both hold on
To each other
Buzzer ends
Game over
LOVE
Has won the game
In nothing but
My nightgown
After playing a game of
One on one
Sweat pouring down my face
After that last slam dunk
You with your hand checks
And your slam dunks
Me with my holding ons
And committing all types of fouls
No wonder I needed the
Cool breeze of the night air
