Nia (Purpose)

We must move with a purpose so our greatness can resurface
Doing it yearlong instead of waiting on the day after Christmas
Kwanzaa gives us the motivation to rebuild our kingdoms
With its seven principles, if we'd just take heed to them

Dropping gems for us to collect to recollect our heritage
While the world feeds messages that're disparaging our kids
Putting in their heads to remove dreads just to be assimilated
Failing to provide the meals & skills for them to be educated

Emasculated, incarcerated & eviscerated are their manhoods
Making them feel worthless or worth less than canned goods
It's understood that if you pit woman against man there can be no prosperity
That's why the first principle is to establish indivisible bonds of unity
