Dear Daddies - Do I look Successful in This?

If your dad looks in the mirror, adjusts himself and asks you this question, calmly proceed to the nearest exit. Maybe feign diarrhea. Whatever you do, do not answer the question!

There's nothing wrong with being fat or successful.

The point is, not to be a prick; winners are mostly unsuccessful. Winners probably lose more than losers. I'm not talking about weight loss. I'm talking about success loss.

Counting your successes is depressing and doesn't represent you as the winner that you are. It's way too much like counting calories. Your best wins don't happen until really far into the game of life. My dad is still raking in the winnings for his family of four.

He's got 13 grandchildren and counting. And his old body is cremated, the painful, heavy burden it became is no longer carried, but in the meantime he won at fatherhood. And maybe he's watching his success now unfolding from a warm and happy place.

The winnings of some fathers may not be as big as my husband, or someone like you maybe, but who's keeping score? I'm glad my dad did what he did. I'm still harvesting what he planted.

The point is to stay in the game. No one has the right to declare you a loser in an unfinished plot line!
