transgressions past

what if she told him the truth
about everything
she looks through
cracks of splintered wood

would it have changed perspective
the anger
to know the truth
of who he is
or should she just pretend
these things never
happened

she stares through the splinters
into his icy blue eyes
wondering how she got here
how he got here
how they got here

just the mention of him
haunts
does she not deserve peace
in her heart
not be made to feel guilty
she fell in love with a man
who became a monster

someone who still feels
justified
to try to break down
the walls
he created

Author's Note
I wrote this quite a while ago and have not made up my mind on whether I am happy with some of my wording .. and sometimes I hesitate to share these types of things .. but maybe it can help someone else, and it is a purging for myself (I left this situation a long time ago. Not soon enough.) ☆ for my daughter who is still trying to cope with so much from her childhood ...☆
