The Bridge Between Us (A Light Within)
The bridge we built together
O’ the winds refuse to sway;
For, the bond remains unbroken,
Even while we are away.
The fire felt within our hearts,
So faithfully kept on either side,
Will lead us back across one day,
To meet in the divide.
Prepare us for that special day,
When our paths converge again;
Let the fire within us light the way,
To the perfect place to re-begin.
And until that day arrives for us,
Be safe, my dearest friend,
For, you've become a part of me;
This separation is not our end!

Being the true romantic, the beautifully expressed sentiment, of this piece, resonates deeply for me! Indeed--true love creates an enduring bond....can definitely build a bridge, where Two hearts, and Two souls, can meet at a midpoint, and meld as O n e! And while time, may reduce the the flames to mere embers, the fire, of this special love, is effortlessly rekindled!

Wow NewBeginings, I really enjoyed this poem. I know it's a collaboration but it's a good one. It reminds me of a friend that I have Nd how we both parted but are bonded by something that keeps us together. The title is great also. It defines the poem. So it's one title instead of two :)

Humans tend to build a bridge between, sometimes we forget it doesn't have to take a lot to tear it down. Some souls are able to find another even when it's dark.
