Headlights

Woke up next to you
only good thing in this bed
and If I break your heart
You can only break my neck

There’s nothing more I need
On our way to a party
Our song came on
you sang so loud
getting me excited
Can’t wait to watch
 you sing and dance
Got there late
something you hate
 Left partly
do to the fight we had

Our song came on so I
Turned it up
looked your way
Switched stations
shook your head
Eyes went back to the road
Was going to say something
so she’s not so red
Was going to make up
before we go to bed

I was Driving too fast
You Told to me slow down
Headlights came from nowhere
I swerved Too late and crashed

you Where Throne out the car
And landed in a hospital bed
Holding your hand with alcohol still
running through my head

All the things I wish I had said
Before the doctors pulled me away
I’ll remember our last day
Before you were taken from me

I don’t want the clock to move
Because After midnight will be
The first day without you
At least times moving slow

So I have more time
To live our last day
Asking god for you to stay
Why’d he make me stay

Driving home
Our song came on
I turned it up and looked for you
I Forgot it was real
I guess I’m still in shock
turned it off
Trying to forget today

But I can still hear it playing
in my head Memories
come flooding in
I’m drowning I can’t breathe
or believe in this

I was Driving too fast
You Told to me slow down
Headlights came from nowhere
 I swerved And crashed

Throne out the car
And landed in a hospital bed
Holding your hand with alcohol still
running through my head

All the things I wish I had said
Before the doctors pulled me away
I’ll remember our last day
Before you where taken from me

It’s not midnight yet
Finish my drinks
the drive home
 where we used to live

Our song came on
looked at the passenger side
turned it up singing along
Started speeding up
 the feelings flowed
Came to the corner

 that take my love
Where I should have gone
Pictured you looking at me
Like nothing’s wrong

Reached for your hand to hold
let go of the wheel
Felt like it’s going to be alright
Closed my eyes to our song
