YOPJ - He's Counting on Me

You can't feel more important than I do. You could easily be just as important, however. God knows the final score.

I can't go a single day without feeling honored and counted on more than my husband makes me feel. Every time I turn around he sweeps me off my feet. It's not just his "eternal youth," it's the way that inner life gushes with caring for others.

For him a downside is that nobody can be a person of such passion without getting wounded in the process. Plenty before me (and a little bit including me) are responsible for his suffering.

Without going into detail, I married a wounded hero. How is he a hero? Too many ways for it to be decent of me to count. He has been the first responder to multiple individuals in actual physical emergencies. Many today owing their safe outcome to him.

Whether it was me, on many occasions unable to make any food for myself or keep half of it down, or someone else being thoughtfully cared for, he's been a reliable angel of mercy.

It's such a character combination!  Add adorable looks and charisma. He has many friends but he keeps to himself. In his life many have fallen for him, but for twenty years of marriage he's been mine. Forever faithful.

He's guarding us all while suffering unrelenting opposition from those who just directly or indirectly want to take him out for what he represents. Despite so much difficulty he refuses to shackle us.

We ourselves are a merciless threat to his health and well being with the stress that we represent. On our own with no outside opposition,  no problem. But the fact he doesn't collapse with everything in his life going on - is just God. God in him making it all possible. My love knows it and owns it; making him such a man.

With such a man, how could I not feel important? I thank God every day to be on his team and mother his children.
