Truth (Silence)

What is silence but not to hear your voice regardless of any other sound?
No word means you haven’t written that I might remember you,
your handwriting seeming as familiar as your voice.
Silence is not seeing you,
for nothing seems as alive when you’re not near.
Silence is simply memories that move but do not speak…
for I know the sound of your voice and art of your form,
and remembrance is not the same.

Silence is the unanswered:
unanswered letters,
unanswered words,
and unanswered desires.
It’s the query that speaks to the very heart –
why?
Silence humbles all else to its proper place as longing magnifies the need you inspire.
Truly,
the depth of silence is the measure of need,
and I am overwhelmed without you.

Silence speaks louder than words,
for that which we strain to hear,
through absence,
stands out all the more.

Some seek silence to read the written word
but when those words are yours does not silence speak peace to my mind
even as it sings to my heart?
If so much bears upon so simple a thing as words from your hand,
how much more any word your lips should chance to speak?
Some can be found who can finish the other’s sentence,
yet more blessed are they who can answer the others thoughts.

For to be together even without words should not be silence but rather be the deepening of love.
For all that speaks of you but plays on my emotions as capricious winds on the sails of my soul…
and yet,
as we learn of one another,
aren’t we in truth but learning to anticipate need?

This is deep calling to deep and the finding of the way,
for understanding is born of experience and never found unless it’s sought.
However to find another you must let go of your self,
for that which you seek to keep you cannot give.
And if you cannot give,
how shall you ever be received –
in part,
conditionally?
Is this the type of gift that you would desire of another?

I would give you all,
In silence or with words
For you are my need however near or far
Always your name speaks in the silence to my heart.
And my prayer is
that my name speaks the same.

Come to me.
