Veruca Salt

Hear me o’ ye great goddesses of rock,
You wowed our minds with many a song,
Men vowed lust and loyalties to you but I
Swore my love would always be strong.
Thy gifts of skill and beauty deeply enticed,
Thy rhythms reverberated through my soul,
Thy voices echo through the caves of my mind,
All the while you wildly rocked and rolled.

In those early days men like me were entranced,
By the vocals of goddesses rocking the world,
Their splendor unique it was completely enhanced,
When their guitars screamed and sultrily whirled.
And when they sang our hearts melted with want,
A sound of youth and desire awoke from within,
A profound truth with a fire provoked it would haunt
Our dreams with a primal need for some original sin.
Their hair, their eyes, their mouths, the way they stirred,
Their words roused many emotions never felt before,
Alluring the mind and body with something unheard,
Filling our spirits with melody and yearning for more.

Hear me o’ ye great goddesses of rock,
Thy rhythms still reverberate through my soul,
Desiring with lust, love and sheer admiration,
After so many years filled with your rock and roll.
