she is woman
hear her roar
the front door closes
the car starts
the daily commute begins
as she leaves the house
she knows
she is equal to man
she is wise
she is strong
she is invincible
equal opportunity
equal work
for equal pay
respected for her ability
powerful
resilient
honored for her achievements
accountable for her actions
responsible to her colleagues
assertive
protective
of her territory
defending her ideas
and ideals
supporting and encouraging
those entrusted to her care
counseling those who
don’t live up to their potential
or who forget their responsibilities
reprimanding those who
are belligerent
or willfully destructive
interviewing
hiring
firing
rewarding
leading
with fire
intellect
and humor
the return home begins
the car starts
the front door closes
she undresses
as she kneels at his feet
she knows
she is not equal to her man
he is man
hear him roar
she will follow instructions
comply with commands
submit
surrender
she is wise
she is strong
she is vulnerable
she knows
he will protect
and nurture
guide
and control
she is not his equal
but his complement
she is woman
feel her purr
