Damn Kids Don'preciate Nothing No More

hard trier (had better) try harder
if'n he want all them heroics that
come from this year's happy tree.
 
The fishmonger at Fulton Fish Market
fingers his fine little catch for the sake
of all his children's hunger as they come home.
 
(Frozen) fishsticks drive daddy wacky 'cause
he, (daddy), got the real thing in his other pocket,
but the damn kids don't want to eat no "real deal"
 
Damn kids want FishStyx, frozen, Gorton's
                                              (trusted since 1849)
                                                   ready to pop
into a kindly micro-wave toaster oven, &,
 
in a few minutes, a golden brown entre that the
kids all love so well, so well, so well. Yo, fish dada,
What's the word down there on Fulton, where the
        
                                                                     fish all freeze?
 
                                               ~ a tear slowly falls from fishdada's eye ~
