And You See
I press my hands thoughtfully against the glass
Indifferent yet consumed with confusion
I approach the thoughts that march through my head
In a silent procession with caution
Not wanting to be overwhelmed again
It's a shame that such days must come
The days when you break down for no apparent reason
But all that aside it's just a shame in general
That as time goes by some people are just left behind
I can see the footprints left in the dust
Perfectly shaped and I follow them but they lead me in circles
I stray away farther and farther from reason
Until I'm all but lost in the vastness of this situation
Inevitable isn't it, the way things turn
And incredible isn't it, how when they face new territory
They're left paralyzed with fear
Stains blossom at the corner of the eyes
And the iris widens to twice its size
And you see
Until the darkness sweeps over everything and clears it away.
Indifferent yet consumed with confusion
I approach the thoughts that march through my head
In a silent procession with caution
Not wanting to be overwhelmed again
It's a shame that such days must come
The days when you break down for no apparent reason
