YOPJ - Powers of Invisibility

Being a parent, not just a mother, is a performance of great impact in a shield of mundane grownup invisibility. It's not scary.

Although at first it's a little unnerving. When you are simply known by your title, be it "mama" or "so-and-so's" mama, it's the first step on the road to invisibility. From there it's not far to personal amnesia, if you aren't careful.

But don't worry. The faster you forget who you are, the sooner you discover a new you. Hopefully that new you won't be a nervous wreck. But if you are, you will be the wiser for it and more thankful for your newfound powers of invisibility.

Today I savored being invisible (or nearly so) with frontrow seating for things like exclusive first hearings of songs by my singer-songwriter daughter. Who also cooks a mean duck. And by mean, I mean like serial barnyard rapist. We lost a lot of sad little hens, and roosters one year to twisted duck libidos. And did you know their penisis are just as twisted as their sexual proclivities? Look it up. *shudders*
