Wasting Away

What's the point in a voice if it's something you waste?
Why sing if they'll look at you with that look of distaste?
Might as well stay silent and save your breath.
What's the point in a life filled with dread?

Wishing, waiting, and watching for a miracle.
Hoping for the moment when your life is full.
Too scared to take that huge leap.
Too scared to stand on your feet.

Take a deep breath and conquer that fear.
Swallow your pride, your moments here.
Go up on that stage and let them all hear you roar.
Take a drink if you must, that's what liquid courage is for.

Do anything you have to do to better your life.
You've had this dream way more than twice.
Do you not realize all that you could be?
Realize you're the light they all want to see.

Your shine would restore the vision of the blind.
Do you not see you're beautiful of every kind?
Stop letting your talents waste away.
Grow up, it's no longer time to play.
