Image for the poem Bowl Full of Lemons

Bowl Full of Lemons

That lemon tree blooms
In life's midway soon
To give fruit
To the table, sure,
You'll have plenty more.

When pear trees drop new
You'd rather have few
To give fruit,
Instead shoot partridge,
A fable of courage.

Though lemons taste tart
Try hard not to part,
Keep the fruit,
It's about lessons
Some needed redress.

Remember schooling
Have lemonade flings,
To give fruit
A better spooling
In shades of loving.

Henceforth happiness
May ensue, no less
To give fruit,
For spirits sake please
Make sure it's released.
