Deep within
unseen by others
do you not tremble
when you feel
behind your eyes
that slow
heart felt pain
of dissolution
that has been creeping
along the dying roots
of wishfull thinking
that was desperately
trying to grow
in barren soil
ignoring
your doubts and fears
in those days months and years
while invisioning a garden
that you've grown
working your heart
to the bone
for that deep inner sigh

that would bring
an unbroken rhythm

but dissolution
and failed promises

as you gazed upon a face

no peace
just shadows that lay
