The Dance of Artemis and The Dryad
Rubber hits the sleek, black river
a constellation floats on its surface
dispersing hand-sized supernovae
waves, doppler against asphalt shores
comets fly past at lightspeed
a trillion feathers kiss my skin, wet
as I offer up my tongue,
the raindrops dance
in icy dionysiac jamboree
my hand in his
index finger and thumb are icicles
i tuck them in, like a tortoise
retreating into its shell
we breathe out dragons' breath
plumes billow and become ghosts
as ambient smells of heavenly delights
invade, in an olfactory hum
he takes me to the gate of Eden
a labyrinth of wizards
tall and ancient
there stood old dryad
a meditating motionless majesty
glovelessed icicles reach out
Mottled crackling under thaw
to vale this craggy monolith;
head bowed in supplication
I recieve his ancient wisdom,
Take this
my hand
Break these chains that bind
Heartstrings vibrating
heart murmur
softly, willows dance the breeze
Tick tock
cosmic clock
tear drops
cleanse the earth
Seedlings mature
tall oak
stand everlasting, wispered cacophony
Nature's fury
mother nurture
ashes to elms, firs to frost
Fire ice
wind soil
my weary bones yearn for your touch
Misty blankets
desert haze
welcomed oasis with rainbow smile
