no cheers when you're gone HF
dearest HF where are you, poetic soul?
I know you're reading us offline
you have to be here, still among us
deeply saddened by your departure
I got very depressed
I even got mad at you...
I thought you should stay and fight
in retrospect, I understand
you're too much of a gentleman to hit a lady
even when they swing at you first
they were dirty when they attacked
they knew just when all of us weren't looking
I hope you know any of us would have taken a bullet for you
now this is just between me and you
my Jack poem damn it I'm sorry I was hurting
I'm paranoid by nature and without the sun you cast here at DU
all the friendly faces started looking like strangers
man, I thought I was done hurting over your absence
then Morrigan wrote you
reminding us of the beautiful things about you
you touched us all uniquely
I don't even write the same since you went away
your presence flavored the whiskey we partake of
loosening our tongues, inspiring us deeply
I know you have to handle things in life first
do what you need to and when you find yourself at a bar--
at the edge of nowhere, just know the drink's on us
we're up at the room
waiting to welcome you home
