Image for the poem faded blues

faded blues

watch me fade
your favorite blue jeans worn out
I was once new to you
tight a little flashy not really your style

you sported me for a while
till you broke me in
now I'm torn in just the right spots
so we rock it

I've learned your nuances
I hug your soul just right, loosely
the way you like

all the ladies are looking
you never wanted the attention
a gigolo not for sale
you go your own way

righteous ink keeps me coming for more
I'll be your old blue jeans
faded but true
