Christmas Lights

Glowing, golden strands,
Of warm light,
Wrapped around columns and banisters, hands
Tucked into my lap, this isn't right....
Car windows, the portals to a "someday when",
You should be here with me, downtown in the old town,
Where we'll be then.
Wrapped up in jackets, hot cocoa, walking arm in arm, lifting today's frown,
Looking at all the Christmas lights,
And all the sights.
