Egalitarian Pitfalls
Raised by narcissistic influences
Howling deficiency of depth
Came to realize
The pages of my youth
were all blank
Okay... we had chapters
Of sweet platitudes
And pointless points
But it's all been oncoming
in agoraphobic isolation
Reading words about pure children
Simple pathways, never straying
Yet the internet betraying
I didn't respect the danger
of books and online bullies
Children heard dissenting voices
and then vying for new options
Adventure Scouting
church scooping
public schooling
All new ideas
perpetrating
values I didn't count on
But hey, baby, here's the keys
We taught you about shopping
We taught you to respect your conscience
But I don't think you really got that...
Actually our system failed us twice but one adult is thriving
Working, singing and songwriting
She a pretty flower bursting with bright paintings
Her younger sisters follow her
and shudder at the older
The baby brothers tried
To hold back their older brother
And spoke like tribal elders
Sitting on upturned buckets
On the porch as he was leaving
I cannot make this stuff up
Tiger we need to talk further....
