New Identity....
Swallowed up by the darkness
She’s gone
Who is she
I don’t even recognize her anymore
This new identity
I take a glance at the mirror
Looking for anything familiar
I see a faint resemblance
Of who she was
But
Not enough to claim her
I look in her eyes
And I see bitterness
Anger
Hurt
And a shit load of regrets
Once upon a time
I was able to encourage her
Help her see the silver lining
But,
It’s as if I have gone mute
Because the words just won’t come
So I can’t be a voice of reason
I can literally feel all her emotions
So many coursing through her
Hard to decipher them all
Overwhelming to say the least
“You make the best out of life
Don’t let life make you”
Yeah this is true
But there comes a time in life
When shit happens
And reality is not so black and white
I see her confused
Trying to figure out who she is
Trying to make sense
Of this new identity
The old she was maybe
Just too sweet for this world
But as she said goodbye
To that sweet side
The bitch side has no doubt risen
Determined to take over
She’s better at handling
All life seems to throw her way
She unlike I
Gives no FUCKS

“She gives no fucks...” makes me sad in some manner, because today’s world in general seems to have that mindset more than not which for me is troubling because I miss a more hopeful ME when some people seemed to care... although I hear you my dear one. 👏🏾✌🏾

I totally get it and I miss that part of myself that cared... She is still there deep down, but as you go through life and endure some hurt you tend to become closed off and more protective of yourself.... You still care but to an extent.... Working my way back to myself or better yet a better version of myself that finds a balance... Hugs... Happy Holiday's to you hun....
