Cresent Hooked

Before me now. Before my very sight.
A boulder sits, hovering in the sky.
So strange. So loved.

Fixated in place, as i, fixate on it.
How does it dance?

Smokes pours into my lungs.
It cannot stay.
To release like crumbling of a dam.
Flooded to dissipate.

The heat from this sphere, it bares too much.
I shade my eyes.
I wipe my brow.
I've had enough.

Santer into the comfort of my damp cave.
Trilobytes that remind me of old tastes.

How they revere without knowing behind locked doors.
Such a salt pillar of the community.
Don't look back.

King Henry would even envy my consumption.
For i, have eaten better than kings.
A jack of all trades, skilled in nothing.
Yes that is me.
With an ace up my sleeve, which just so happens to be a Queen.

Ember now burns my fingers.
Too slow to react.
Let's face the facts.
The surface cracked.
A drought within baptismal.

My eyes they sleep.
Without missing a blink.
To open up my world.
And witness something so strange.

.....
I think it's staring back.
.....
That boulder in the sky.
..........
Here i am, just to stare.
Here am i.
