Nostalgia Revisited
Is the grass always greener?
Oh imagineer and dreamer,
Who’s always looking at the other side,
Thinking about days of old,
Wishing you could‘ve been foretold,
Longing in your heart you could re-decide.
And it’s no use to torment,
Yourself at every moment,
For the road not taken without a stride,
It is best to look ahead,
Than relive the past and dread,
Then be swept off to sea at high tide.
Better yet to err and learn,
So that you’re able to discern,
How the choices you have made applied,
You think it’s always better,
So much it makes you bitter,
Discover how to raise yourself in stride.
That side is just a mirror,
The reflection should be clearer,
What you once wanted you now have tried,
The grass isn't always greener,
Damned imagineer and dreamer,
It’s just that nostalgia makes you weary eyed.
Don’t board that melancholic train ride.
