Butterfly

Unique markings,
unlike the others,
Different breed,
yet you still make self comparisons

Out of necessity
You spun a concrete cacoon
It's metamorphosis
Not your tomb

Let's chisel together
And chip away piece by piece
Me from outside, you within
Until your release

Emerge
Emerge with me
And in times you'll spread your wings
And you'll be free

You're colorful
A bright display
A rarity
To bright my day

My butterfly
I'll hold you in my palms
So you can rest at anytime
Without any harm

The flame ignites
Ashes spewing from my lungs
And in a cloud of smoke
I envision you rising up

With wings of fire
Phoenix resemblance
Just make it through
And I'll be here

To hold you tight
You cannot burn me
And i will not let go
In your self learning

Be free
And fly to my shoulder
But you cannot fly with armor
My constant warrior

Defend your gates
Not letting anyone in
As you should,
And when the battles over, begin

My flaming butterfly
Four winged phoenix
Cacoon of hardened ash
I can't believe it

Perfect creature
Born of war torn
Change into who you are
Who you truly are
And I'll keep loving you still.
