The Lover with no Light

Have you ever
Loved someone
Then realise that
They have no light

When they walk into a room
They turn the heads of people
But the flowers slowly look away

When you hold them
Your heart stops for a second
Make you believe it skipped a beat
Out of passion

Have you ever had a lover
No matter how much
Attention you give
They still want more
Until you are left alone

Have you ever seen
Their true face
As you realize
How silence with them
Is uncomfortable

Yes something about
Their mystery still draws you in
As you realise that
They might be empty

So you try and fill up their cup
You give half of what you have
and they call you a pessimist
Then give your all
Only for you to be left empty

You then decide to give
Them some of your passion
But then as their fires get lit
They find their own light
And use it for their own path

Then they leave you behind
Empty and dispassionate
Leaving you in a state of darkness

Proving once again
That 'hurt people' hurt people
And you are left hurt
All because
you tried to heal another

And in the end
You are the lover
Who has no light
