Always sniffling
Always bouncing
Always talking
Always hyperaware
Always need a pick me up
Always need it to have fun
Always it finds me
Always trying to quit
Always trying to forget
Never getting anywhere
Except high in a hotel

A poem I wrote about my addiction to methamphetamine called my abusive addiction
For the past two years you were my true confidant of relief.
You made me think you were my only friend, a brainwashed belief.
I really thought you were helping me not hit my rock bottom.
You were like my favorite time of year, a beautiful autumn.
But you had me fooled into thinking that I could live my life.
I was blinded by your instant feel good and ignored my strife.
Your optical illusion made me think that I was flying.
It wasn't till I hit the ground I realized you were lying.
Yet I was hooked by your overwhelming force of seduction.
Aware but unable to stop my life from your destruction.
I tried to piece my life back together bit to no avail.
But I'll never give up no matter how many times I fail.
