Heaven and Earth

( a Quatern )

I always have my head amongst the stars,
The times on zoysia in tropic climes.
The full moon’s zinc of silver’s phase ajar,
I drift into a lunar haze of rhyme.

A graceful zeppelin ghosting overhead,
I always have my head amongst the stars.
On zinnias and orchids for a bed,
The next stop in my dreams will soon be Mars.

I’ll live on clams zucchini, zwieback chars,
Become a raving zealot from the storm.
I always have my head amongst the stars,
And wear a jet black zibeline for warmth.

While drawing plans a ziggurat I’ll make,
I’m keeping shrunken Martian heads in jars.
A tower’s zenith leads to Heaven’s Gate,
I always have my head amongst the stars.
