battered
my heart shattered

fragile, delicate
stolen from its
cage of bones
detailed, intricate

smashed
into sharp shards
of useless glass
trashed

tossed
broken
scratched
value lost

chipped
rough edges
scuffed up
stripped of worth

passed out pieces
to all who asked
given freely
spread around
parts of me
left out
found
and littered
trampled
on the ground

I'm in fragments
shattered heart
scattered
across the earth
