Midway Remembered

A sea of white,
Silently stood,
Around the great monument,
Of stone and wood.

Men and Women solemnly stood,
Tears of sorrow,
For each forgotten ,
Sailor and friend.

As each ships name,
Sailor's rank read,
Midway's sea battles,
Tears were  shed.

As taps was played,
They stood as one,
As sea of white,
Proudly stood strong.

As the stars and stripes ,
Were carried off,
The next generation in honor,
Grabbed the torch.[/font]
