The Distance of Dreams
Bittersweet the words I speak
Beyond the distance you can hear
Beyond the reach of my gaze
My touch
My lips
But not the desire of my heart
For always my heart reaches out to you
Calls to you
Mi Corazon
You’re the deep scent of dreams which fill my day
So ordinary and so plain
With the beauty which I yearn to hold
For so pass my days
Losing myself in thoughts of you
The sighing of the wind
Your breath on my skin
The blue of the sky
Your eyes
You’re the half glimpsed
Out of the corner of my eye
The presence felt
But looked for
Not there
But you are here with me
In the calm stillness of the moments
When heart deep
I think of you
If only my heart could speak the words
My voice tries to
But cannot find
For somehow a man is always bound by lesser things
Like the frailty of words
And the distance of miles…
If only these things like autumn leaves
Would fall away
Leaving my love for you unveiled
Can you not feel my love for you
Even if only by chance
For I imagine you love me
…could love me
If only it were true
What is our truth
A moment to drink deep of the mystery of your eyes
To touch you and feel the reality
Of all I’ve longed and wished to be
The crush of a kiss
Your breath
The taste of everything I’ve missed
Your body pressed tight
So tight
In the want of you
My desires
Would never escape your mind
For you would know me true
All bearings lost in that storm too long a brewing
Let me touch you
And my mind escape the dream
For the real that lives and breathes
Whose skin yields to the strength of my touch
Passion driven
We two caught in the dance of fools in love
And powerless so
To do less or more than fall
For lovers always do ~
Even if as distant as the stars
For to me beauty bears your name

this is very beautifully written something to ponder upon within the depth and deepness of the spiritual being of ones inner soul...the only distance of dreams is to dream of dreams as one manifest them to be apart of ones life by reaching for them turning them into reality for all eyes to see that dreams are not impossible if one believes in the beauty of there dreams...

you said it my friend it is the secret of life... sometimes i think when folks don't go for there dreams to me one denies oneself the chance to believe in themselves, sometimes we have to block out the negativity energy that comes from some folks and surround oneself with folks, that gives off positive energy with inner encouragement to your soul for like the old saying goes, misery loves company and its sad that we as people don't want to see someone eles climb from out of that pit and make a change going for there dream, for you have to surround yourself with the same thinking of mindset and those are what i call the chosen few for they see within you that what you don't see nor believe that you can manifest it through you, for a dream is merely a thought of your mind and soul as it is something that one feels passionate about in ones heart for sometimes we have to take a leap of faith and throw caution to the wind...

The thing I have noticed about your poetry is that it contains a certain freedom of expression within it - an openness to be oneself and feel how one wants to feel regardless of any outside force, or even the object of your desire. I'm not too crazy about the form being so spaced out between lines; however, I did enjoy the liberating nature of the content to just be who you are.

I would never lay claim to being a poet. There are too many who put in serious effort at the craft. I don't know meter. I couldn't tell you what a sonnet is. Some folks like to be e e cummings with punctuation or move lines left, right and center for emphasis. I just like words. I leave a little air for them to breath because no one else is but it was never meant as a statement thingy.
I remember one line from the movie National Treasure. Ben: A hundred and eighty years of searching, and I'm three feet away. Of all the ideas that became the United States, there's a line here that's at the heart of all the others: "But when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future Security." People don't talk that way anymore.
