Plotting against nature
A sombre bird moves delicatly
outside my window
knotting invisable threads
Have you not noticed our absence?
beyond faint slumber
we thought we could entrust
humanity
Should we consign all fate
to be forgot
History repeating
again
in gunpowder
we trust
outside my window
knotting invisable threads
Have you not noticed our absence?
beyond faint slumber
we thought we could entrust
humanity
Should we consign all fate
to be forgot
History repeating
again
in gunpowder
we trust

Thank you much dearest Raven for shining your light on this topic. I know you are a child of the earth as nature often breathes through your poetry. Love to you, Melia

Can understand that man's readiness to shoot anything that flies is being pointed at here.
Seeing your author's note, I wonder what list you are referring to. Is it an international list or one drawn up by the authorities of one's own country (I British)?

Re: Re. Plotting against nature
Thanks for your reply to my poem Solomon. I appreciate the read. What i am referring to in my note is decided by local authorities in Norway. It is therefore allowed to kill small birds if they damage your house or property/garden including the one you see on the picture.

Blue tits are well known for pecking milk bottle tops to drink the milk out, which some folk may think unhygienic. At my family home we worked around that by a home made lid topped crate the milkman could put the bottles into.

Woah, what a law of legalising murder of local birds so one's house-n'-garden stays neat and pretty. That's news to me. Since the firestorm 2 years ago which burnt 95% of all the trees around us, our garden has become an oasis for birds and I love seeing them. So have taken up noisy residence in our roof (Portuguese roof-tiles are a funny design with gaps that small birds can squeeze through) but I feel it is a small price to pay. Shame that Christianity has produced a culture where Nature is de-sacralised. Powerful and somewhat disturbing write, Melia. Josh.

Thanks for your words Josh, wise words they are.....yes its insane how far certain things go just so that the people can have their (fake) peace. Materialism over all....
I read about that new local law yesterday. I think its totally utterly insane.
I too love birds and they always come to my garden. They are very welcome here!!! Enjoy their company and their chatter.

this awareness causes me to cry and be angry at the same time.
as an earth empath, i feel all of Gaia's life crying out and angrily trying to cryout or combat.
I can only do what i can in my little pond.
nice empowering spill, Beautiful Sister

The animal world needs empathic tears. Earth empaths will be the last to cry for them. I know you see, feel and hear gaia
in her truest essence. Thank you beautiful brother for stopping by. Light to you, Melia

We stomp upon everything precious it seems...I save a small (very) forest where I live.
2 small herds of deer, some turkey and various small wildlife...I would be lost and heartbroken without them.
They have saved me spiritually many times over through the yrs.
The birds are beautiful to watch change through seasons.
At one time the woods were sizeable, land was bought, raped, raked over with dozer and houses planted (the story everywhere) Business or down to the last jerk on the block, too many do not care of their impact or even think Nature deserves respect (unless it comes on a postcard)
Sad Write Dear that tugs at the heart

Dear Soul, you vallue nature in its deeper sense. I am convinced that what you send out you get in return. So the deer come to you for a healing purpose. Animals are extremely smart creatures, they know the caring ones from the others. Perhaps they just come to greet you. You are one of their tribe now!!! Always nice to talk to you.

The hardest thing for mankind to do is to except love for something other than it’s self.

Beginning with such lovely imagery, closing with such a sobering thought, it's effective. I love the image of the bird plucking invisible threads of air. <3
