Like in the days
of old
the weak willed
eager to please
the blind
and the ignorant
continue to follow
the laws
of their prophets
they dare not
look back
at the things
their profits
leave behind
for they fear the beast
that sleeps within
the beast
that can connect them
to the things
that their profits
have left behind
that uncontrollable
beast
whom they dare not name
only in shallow whispers
in the brightest of light
do their lips tremble
with the name of the beast
Empathy
as they fall to their knees
praying to their god
that their Profits
will protect them
from the Human
Emotion
