As to structure, I would say, abandon formality. There are still writers, here and elsewhere, who do amazing things within form. They show a discipline that is admirable and weave magic. But, what I love, is blood. I want to feel your heart bleeding on the page, I want the detail to be so intimate, you make the page breathe. That is what I look for in a write. Formalized rhyme schemes, numbered stanzas, iambic pentameter and the like, were the way of the ancient writers of the past who've gone into antiquity and whose heads are reared above us in stone relief, like that of Ozymandias, whose words etched in stone are a testament to the end of all things, from that of power and might, to that of the lowliest and meek. As Yeats said, Things fall apart, the centre cannot hold.  

Anyways, what I love about your write is it's intimate tone, delivered with a simplicity of candor that is engaging. There is often too much artifice in art, to my thinking. The repeat of how life likes to fall apart is effective, giving the message a gestalt whole.  
 
I never write in form, I always pour my fearless love out for the reader to eviscerate and digest, heart flowing through thoughts and thoughts onto page, unabashedly, undergoing very little editing.

For an example, look through any of my body of works. Most recent, An Apocalypse of Dawn has a tender quality, whilst O Filos Sou, o Drakos, is potent with force. Each a different aspect of my personality, but delivered raw.

But there's always that other argument of why not me? I've got away with it for so long, so why not me now! I thought about this question once when I had a high-speed crash on the motorway/freeway.
