Time

Have you ever seen a more beautiful day,
Or felt more perfect an hour?
Time is hanging. The wind in His eyes.
A corpse so lustrous in the trees.
I want to watch everything stand still…
Hold my breath and never release.
We are below the waters, and above the clouds.
Nothing has ever felt so pure as this moment
When Time was stripped from our hearts
And buried alive…

Winter rising. Seasons falling.
Skies unknowing to glow or dim.
What wilts shall never grow again.
The wonder lost. The silence calling.
I stand where the leaves never lost their hue,
With the burden that is mine to bear;
The sun and moon sharing the palest blue
And the birds no longer singing there.

Let these be the frozen hours.
Walk beside the falling and the rise
Past the gates and iron towers
To find nothing but the skies.
What did I do for another, but not for thee?
Would you ever do the same for me?
If you must watch as I turn to another field
Bearing with me my saber and my shield
Against the odds of fate and chance
That once I believed were our romance
Would you ever do the same for me?
