Eclairs for Edward

Was shot twenty five times in the space of an hour.
By the sting a nest of Indiana farm hornets
Agressive as they come and go
And left to dye for on the
Streets of New Basilon

And now let us observe a
moment of sirens.

When the kid died,
The nurses carried the boy slowly around the hospital
While all stood at respect
flags half mast
As each the boy passed
An then they harvested his organs

Dug out his insides
So others can live


Then he woke up
Startled
As the technicians
Carved out his eyes first
Noticed he had awoken,

"Supervisor needed in the
butcher room
"Supervisor needed in the..."

But the process had already begun
And the brain activity monitor was reading zero but then the supervisor wiggled a connection
It was then they realized their error

That the boy had just been sleeping
Overly sedated
Awe, but the PAPERWORK
the MOUNTAIN of paperwork
The boy MUST DIE
Must die

So the technician sorrowfully
Returned to the harvest and the supervisor left the room
Whereupon Chad, our hero,

Chad the technician
Returned the eye to the boy,
Sewed it back in
Turned out the lights

Headed back out in the hallway
A few mournful stragglers still there
And CHAD shouted THE BOY LIVES
THE BOY LIVES

whereupon the supervisor
triggered the lockdown of the ward
But the wee stragglers knew

They witnessed the boys feeble head raised as the yellow strobed  lights and pulsed low sirens commenced

muttered the supervisor
As hospital Security commenced
Lockdown of the facility
