The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness
of the treacherous destroys them. Proverbs 11:3 ESV

secrets
are exposed
in the darkness
under which i c l o a k.
there i s no hiding p l a c e,
for the conscience is the e y e
of the soul. thus God sees through me
all d e c e p t i o n s that undo me.
when my truths become a lie,
my honour i d i s g r a c e;
on my pride i c h o k e,
for veiled starkness
undisclosed—
no less

Wow - so interesting how the spill slightly changes in meaning depending on the Version or Translation of the verse!!

You are right about the version to the meaning of the text. I looked at both yours and mine and decided to stay with mine.
King David and his son, King Solomon! There's a thing between them and the expression of the soul. David was not a perfect man but his contriteness showed his complete surrender to the power of God. God loved him with a special dispensation. Solomon's wisdom did not always direct his choices and so he got into big trouble and lost his Kingdom.
Did you know that David was not the author of all the psalms? His chief musician Asaph wrote 12 of them (#50 and 73-83). Solomon is the author of Ecclesiastes.
