Don't  Kid Yourelf

A consortium of souls
gather and await your newcoming
as the snow falls
and liquifies through to the brain .
Wandering and plundering
of an era that no longer happens
smelling the acute summer air
remembering the things you loved and dared .
A new person awaiting a new self
looking back at the open bottle on a dusty shelf .
Once certain voices
decreed such choices .
You cant spend old money as tender in the present
the past has gone
even though it may have been pleasant
torn clothes you'll don
a shadow is all you'll represent .
An old discoloured book
sits open , around you circle
then take alook
it stirs emotion
a memory of slow locomotion .
Inside a locket of hair
theres that feeling
you remember
you stare
past lives and times are gone,
can you smell the sunny air
can you remember the song
dont kid yourself
for they are'nt there,
things change
you learn that short
always turns out long.
