Drowning In Sorrows

The birds are
Singing
Nature’s song
An all familiar tune
Of a sad soul
Living a war
And fighting one
She’s damaged
Not broken
She can be fixed
She’s lost in a
Wilderness
Of dying hopes
And dreams
The more she walks
She falls
Further behind
She try’s to be brave
Swimming
Yet terrified
Taking a deep breath
Facing her fears
Treading the waters of the spontaneous rivers
She pushes her limits
Nothing’s seems right
She’s gasping for air
The harder she tries
The further she sinks
Into emptiness
Drowning in sorrows
Instead of swimming
