Not As It Seems

Do you see that dog over whining and begging
Sniffing around that park bench for any scrapes
Skin and bones with old dog tags upon his neck
Keep your eyes on him

Do you see that mother with the four little kids in the store
Baby crying and one kid running down the hall
The other two hitting and pinching each other
Keep your eyes on her

Did you notice the scars upon that veterans chest
See how timid he got as the doctor examine him
See the fear in his eyes when the door slammed shut
Keep your eyes on him

That dog was dropped offin the park because his owner passed away and the son didn't want it

That mother lost her husband in a houser fire last month and now she struggles to provide for her kids

That veteran suffers from PTSD and no matter where he is it likes he's still in combat

Keep your eyes open and you may see that things aren't always as they seem
Instead of turning your nose up try to understand
Put yourself in there shoes and see how you would feel

Take that dog home and feed him maybe find him a home

Donate money for a new home for that mom and her kids

Volunteer at a veterans center and talk with that man you saw at the clinic

Keep your eyes on the world around because nothing is as it seems
