The Light Of Day

I don't need help rising,
Always bright and hot
Hidden at times.
Depending on where you are
I will show you the light
I'll greet you at every morning
And brighten your day.
If you miss me it's not my fault
Some hide me to make it grey.
Children bask in my glory
And play all day,
while the flowers and trees
need my rays.
I'm high above the ground
for every eye to see,
Shining ocean to ocean
Blanketing with purpose
just because I'm me.

Author's Note
Sitting on my deck, 6:03am appreciating another day to see the light.
Not a great poem but it just flowed out.
