It can certainly feel that way at times, Kitty.  
I choose to believe that I create my own fate - darts be damned. ;)

I believe that  many factors come into play. I do think we have a choice in part of our existence ,our thoughts,  the intentionality of our actions, how we treat others.  But i also believe that there are physical and environmental limitations to our life that are out of our control ( poverty and brain wiring if you will). There is also the sociological, cultrual aspect of our lives wherein individuals are not even aware that their responses have been shaped by what they were taught in their culture of origin. There is also the consideration of an individual's family system in their psychological and behavioral development. Given the highly dysfunctional nature of those systems  ( addiction, sexual, physical, mental abuse), people walk around seperated from their true core identity and live their lives mirroring what was done to them without realizing their actions are not their own. I hope this thesis clarifies how i see human functionality. Always a joy to hear from you Ahvanti.
