The Eternity of Things Unknown

I read the verse of a sacred poem.
Within a scroll that wasn't there.
We spoke across the universe,
in the shadow of the air.

Your radiance, beyond my grasp,
I stole an Angel's wings.
Blinded, I saw not his fall
into darker, evil things.

Tread lightly on the waters,
or drown beneath the fear.
The written word has power,
heed the silence that you hear.

Upon the columns of the conscience.
Rests the temple of the fates.
Feed the wolves that guard it.
Taste the wisdom that awaits.
