His Impatience, My Gain

I can see his persistence
pisses you off

It must be so tiring
putting up with such predictable attempts

I like to step in
at such moments
and divert that nagging thought
starting to form
that your best option
is to flee

If he could really see you,
he'd know that a more subtle approach
might trigger some consideration

But he talks and talks
because at some point it worked
for someone less inclined
to get a little deeper into the game

Don't misunderstand,
this caged attraction
is tricky to reign in
and I want what he wants

But I'd like to know a little more
- to hear the frequency in your voice
to see how you fidget during those quiet moments,
how those dazzling eyes respond to certain ideas

I can see you want to play
just as much as I do,
but I can also tell
if I'm going to get you off
we'll have to drag this out
a little longer.
