Racism
I am a white man at the age of 28….
I have to give you that information, so you could relate…
I grew up in an area where I was the minority…
But back then seeing race was not a priority…
I consider some of those friends my family….
So I been wanting to get something off my chest badly…
Just cause I am white does not make me racist, but you can have your opinion..
But some of you people are all mighty holy, so you in a sense is sinning…
One of the 10 commandments is love thy neighbor…
How many of you have a neighbor of a different race, and will not ask them for a favor ?
Why because their skin shows a different pigmentation ?
Why cause your scared of being questioned by immigration ?
I am tired of this racism and this divide..
Like I said I had friends of different races since the young age of five…
I get grouped up with those white supremacists hillbillies, and to be quite frank it is not fair…
Indian, Caucasian, Egyptian, African American I really do not care…
I love everyone equal…
We all bleed the same and we are all people..
I understand if we commit the same crime I will get a slap on the hand..
While you may serve 3-5, or some may get deported back to their land…
I was born into this race, I did not choose it..
I hope I am not offending anyone, cause this is a topic some people will lose it…
All I am saying is do not punish an entire race, because they have a few bad eggs. .
We all the same, we all have hands feet arms and legs…
Just treat people how you would like to be treated…
Instead of aiding racism, how about we try and help defeat it…
Like I said, I hope no one takes this the wrong way…
I just had to get this off my chest after this long day…

The poem was published in 2019 on August 27, but this comment that is the only one here is coming almost 3 years later. It's only because this is the first time that I have seen this poem.
The other more than 200 people who've read it and chose to be silent speaks volumes about the current racial divide. It has come to a point where people are so numb or disensitised to this that they don't even want to comment on it.
It's a divisive issue that keeps on continuing to divide us because when diplomacy fails the next step is war.
