♡♡♡

he came beautifully wrapped
a rainbow on a dark day
beacon of light that filled
the rooms of her heart

laughter that rustled
the dust off of her shelves
making her take deep breaths
her lungs needed
that kind of filling

his touch warmer than the hottest
summer day
never leaving her feeling burned
just loved
like the sun loves the flowers

his blue eyes caressed her
a light ocean breeze
sparkle of the stars
he was her "Sky Man"
(she's not sure when she started to call him that)

he was for her
larger than life
he exuded joy and love
a pillow cloud she could rest on
so easily
with a smile
he promised to never remove

his joy was her joy
her love was his love
when she first spoke those three words
you would have thought no one else
had ever uttered them to him
in disbelief he shared them
with the World
"She Loves Me, She Really Loves Me"
and she does with every ounce
of her being

he showed her
he loved every part of her
her bohemian spirit
the way he could make her laugh
that she was beautiful
even on her bad days
the way she sang to him
her quick wit and banter
she was his angel
and he hers

he was her gift
from the Universe
he came just when she
needed him the most

you could say the Universe
is an Indian Giver
she let me have him
long enough to pull myself
out of the trenches
to show me how strong I am
because I had doubted it for too long
to show me that love is everywhere
in everything, beyond any mans
reasoning
she allowed me to unwrap
the gift slowly with absolute certainty
(in my mind)
that he would always be here
that we had all the time in the world
she showed me there is no such thing
did I take our love for granted?
No!

his love for me exists in all things
in the blade of grass beneath my feet
in the flowers that caress the breeze
in the way the trees leaf out
and change colors in the fall
in the way the rivers flow
and the ocean crashes against the shores
of her heart
in the way the sky shifts
from light to dark
he is her shining light everyday
always with her
showing her how to go on living
and loving
even if it is without him

Can I say I am Blessed?
Yes, Yes I Can
