FAMILY CODE
Hey I get it
I can see where you are coming from
Cause, although some may not, I agree
I am a hardcore pragmatist above all
No actual promises were broken!
(At least not to me)
And with all my vents and rants
I should have done MY diligence
As I stand on a pedestal
Wondering,
Who what when why and where?
Always looking for a lesson
In my trials through life
I am continuously searching for the
Meaning, behind my choices
Eager to learn more about my hu(e)man experiences
Quick to want to analyze certain reactions and feelings
Incessant,
Self-reflection
Constantly evolving
Growing
becoming
a
better
me
Clearly,
I am not perfect
Although,
My back is often straight and my
Shoulders are relaxed, my
Head always held high
It comes from my childhood
The village that raised me
as they have often told me...
I represent THEM when I walk outside
Been having more conversations this week than I’ve had in a long time
Grandmothers’ and Grandfathers’
Cousins, Friends
My Mom, my Dad, my Stepdad
My sister…
I must take all of them into consideration
When I make my decisions
See my life,
isn’t just about me!
And as selfish as I come off
I am the diplomat of the family
The mediator
Cause tempers flair
I am the one everyone goes to when a dispute needs to be settled
They know I’ll hear all sides and be fair
No one gave me the title of
Moderator
No instructions came with this honor
It is just who I am
I learned the best solution
When warring factions can’t see eye to eye
I casually remind them of
Karma
You're either living out yours
Or you’re a part of there’s
See,
in our house we break
Karmic cycle’s
We are all (my family) focused on doing this
Breaking generational curses
Physical, emotional, sexually substance abuse
We all agreed long ago
You stop it by being honest and true to yourself and to others
It’s what I live by
It is

There is nothing wrong with being the family's peacemaker, a little stressful at times, but this is your position. There also is nothing wrong with your family having and operating within certain codes, it helps with peace. Cool piece

Not all of us realize, or recognize, that what we do reflects upon those we come from
A person should never let his roots strangle his development, but he should also never think he reached great heights on his own
