My Mind's I

We had cried on each other's shoulders, benefiting from being friends
I've told you my life story, up until, but not the end
You were receptive and unselfish, you did the exact same thing
We found that we both shared the exact same pain
You were lurking in the shadows hiding from the shame
When you bumped into me feeling exactly the same
We had both known love or at least thought that we did
But when it came to a true connection love always hid
It was the pain that always wanted to stay
That deep dark depression that never would go away
Here in the dark life has no beginning or end
There is no ceiling or floor, so the walls closes in
There's no rhythm or rhyme, life simply passes by
But how can you tell with no earth and no sky
We recognize that look, that blank stare in to each other's eyes
We have strong affections for each other, but it's that look we despise
So in my house all mirrors have been destroyed
We can't look at each other it tends to destroy
So we lie here with our heads constantly on each other's shoulder
Unlike Sysiphus, we need help rolling hearts that weigh like a boulders
Up and down the hills of a wounded mind
Hemisphere to hemisphere, a stranger in the dark is something hard to find
Is it okay to walk around searching in this wounded mind
Even when we both know that this darken realm is all mine
