Warfare

"Warfare"
By:
Joshua Jamal

I'm sittin/ and pacin/ mentally racin/
Stuck in me emotional basement/I got my hands up/
Hit my fist on the pavement/typical caveman/talkin in the 3rd person/they shouldve heard us/
Surrounded with thoughts and also conclusions/Lookin for immediate alternative/ a desperate solution/ Like a complex sypher/ Here comes confusion/ reinstitution/all scripted innately/ for someones amusement/
Me being contested just married abandonment/ my shadow and reflection/ sense of detection/ words and state of mind just became my own worst advocate/ Stopping the flow/ my life my growth/ causing me to suffocate/ like an invoked tourniquet
A turning head and a burning face/
Running to and fro like an endless chase/ seeking something that at least reflects mercy and grace/ God give me my final resting place/
The place that i am in began to shift/like reeves swayed by the wind/ i began to drift/ swept swiftly by an unknown current/ what to expect is to be determined/
Light begins to flash/ doors begin to open and a stairway appear/ like a missed punctuation or a numeric figure/ i am wondering how did i get here/
A force is pulling me and beckoning me to come near/something feels like its shoving me from the rear/ without much room to retreat/ upon reaching this place/ i am compelled to rest and take a seat/
Sitting in this "waiting room" with the echo of the place i left still haunting me/ I am sitting with the hope of someone coming to see me promptly/
Waiting perplexed and anxious/ with a face that looks puzzled due to trying to interpret an unknown language/ sitting stiff as if in bondage/ tick tock a pin drop the place is unresponsive/
Then a noise breaks the suspense/
My heart begins racing/ as if i climbed a 8 foot iron fence/ I sense someone or something approaching near/ as i began to sense this i sensed something else/ fear/ Like chains that loosened I prepared for my escape/ as i began to walk away/ i felt that someone or something compelling me to stay/I tried to ignore it/ but the feeling was too strong/i approached and opened the door that i came out of/ the place that i left is now gone/No where else to go except in the direction of this compelling force/ i picked up speed and caught wind as if i was riding on a horse/as this force compelled me to move closer i was consumed by light/ the light was too bright/ i had to cover my sight/While this light engulfed me i had this incredible feeling/ my cuts scars and pains began a process of healing/the presence of love, joy and peace enveloped me like a warm blanket/ i dont know what i did/ but boy do i love it/ i became tired/my eyes became heavy/ and i fell into a deep sleep/ a small voice told me/ Rest easy soldier/ for what you have experienced is Salvation and Victory
