On My Mind
Seeds strewn out haphazardly
blueness filters out the air
reminded by the sunflower
and the warmness in the breeze
the trees, fullness as they sway
pictures flash of a brightened sundress
missing, of night of day
a cardinal flies on past the window
her feathers float down upon my hair
the prettiest place of sanctuary
bathing with inhibitions gone bare
soft sounds reminisce with the church bells
noon, renewed
breaking boughs amid respite
but life, subdued
inhale and let me linger
exhale you know
you were always on my mind
each space, each spark
each and every time
